Chapter 681: Barack-san’s Recommendation

「Ou ou! That’s a huge crowd today. You’re not here to look for work, are you?」

「Yes, there’s something I would like to discuss with you, Barack-san……」

「For now, come to the usual room.」

Saying so, Barack-san headed for the guild’s conference room.

「Barack-san hasn’t changed at all.」

「Yeah. But it’s nice that he’s still very much himself.」

「True, true.」

Maria seemed happy that Barack-san was the same as always.

When we entered the conference room an waited, another familiar person came in.

「Hey, Takumi-kun. Long time no see.」「Hans-san, it’s nice to see you again.」

「Sophia-san, Maria-san, you seem to doing well too.」

「「It’s great to see you again, Hans-san.」」

「Wait a little longer. I think GM will be here soon.」

It was Hans-san, the person who helped me when I registered at the Adventurers Guild.

「Wow, you have children. It’s a bit late, but congratulations.」

「Thank you.」

「So, did you come to meet Barack today because it had something to do with those young ones over there?」

Hans-san glanced at Bill and the others standing behind us as we sat in the conference chairs.

「Yes. Actually, thanks the Sylph and the others’ idea, we decided to form a knight order in the Sanctuary……」

Kabam!

While I was explaining to Hans-san, the conference room door slammed open, and in barged a happy Barack-san.

「Ou! Did I make you wait?」

「Wai- GM, please be a bit quieter. There are small children here!」

「O-oh, my bad.」

Boisterous like always, Barack-san was scolded by Hans-san for not speaking quietly. Etoile and the girls weren’t agitated by his loud voice in the slightest though.

「So Takumi came all this way to talk to me?」

「That’s right. Takumi-kun is the representative of the Sanctuary now. He has a good relationship with the Trination, is there even a need to discuss anything with the GM of an Adventurers Guild at the border?」

「Hans, you’ve got a foul mouth.」

「Worry not. Only to you, GM.」

「That makes it worse. I’m your boss.」

「If it’s as you say, then I’d like for you to slacking and do your job properly. I think I could respect you then.」

「Kuh……」

「Now now, I can see you guys are getting along well. Would it be alright for me to speak now?」

「Ah, yeah, sorry Takumi.」

「Fufu, exchanges like these is part of the recipe for smooth communication.」

I explained the reason for my visit today to Barack-san and Hans-san.

「Actually, we’ve decided to establish knight orders led by the Great Spirits in the Sanctuary.」

「Hou, and those lads are part of that knight order?」

「GM, let’s listen to Takumi-kun first.」

「Ou, my bad. Please continue.」

「Yes. There are four knight orders. The Fire Spirit Knights comprising of Humans and Beastkin. The Wind Spirit Knights exclusively for Elves. The Earth Spirit Knights exclusive to Dwarves. The Water Spirit Knights, exclusive to Mermaids.」

「Wow, Mermaids are rare.」

「As expected, the Sanctuary is a melting pot of races.」

Barack-san and Hans-san were impressed by the variety of races in our knight orders.

「Yes, and even though their races were different, thankfully they’re all individuals that the Great Spirits had deemed worthy, so there’s no issue in terms of talent.」

「I see, if that’s the case, then what IS the problem?」

「Isn’t it obvious if you think about it? I’m not knowledgeable on mermaids, but elves and dwarves are a long-living race. Even if they’re considered young, surely they have some with experience in higher positions. But that doesn’t seem to be the case for the humans and beastkin in the Fire Spirit Knights.」

「Ohh, I see. That’s definitely a problem.」

Barack-san didn’t immediately catch on to the problem of only having young people, but Hans-san explained it.

「Then what you want is an individual who could become a leader for the knights.」

「If possible, an individual who could assist that leader too, right?」

I nodded at Barack-san and Hans-san’s statements.

The knight captain was a given, but as Hans-san mentioned, we were also looking for someone who could assist the captain while also managing the young members.

「……setting the knight captain aside, there’s someone I recommend for the assistant. What do you think about Heath?」

「That’s a good one. Losing the 『Lion’s Fang』 would be a huge blow to the Adventurers Guild, but this would be a good deal for them.」

Regarding Heath-san’s party 『Lion’s Fang』, I planned to eventually invite them into the Sanctuary, so I definitely want to ask.

When the captain issue was first raised, I already had Heath-san in mind, but as to be expected, it would be difficult to go directly from adventurer to knight.

「Bogah aside, Lyle doesn’t really seem that knightly.」

「……it’ll be fine…… probably.」

Would it really be alright? There’s a lot of young women in the knight orders too.

I did have some worries regarding Lyle-san, but I had already decided to reach out to them.
