Chapter 533: The Valkyrie’s Might
Chapter 533: The Valkyrie’s Might
"True Victory is not destroying your enemy’s weapon, but it is making that very weapon destroy its own master," stated Gareth in a ruthless tone.
Strategist Zoromir smiled and nodded towards Gareth. As an intellectual entity himself, the 5th-phase Lich took a liking to those words, and since the moment of Osiris’s appearance, only about half an hour has passed.
But this demon-horned undead alone changed the course of the entire battlefield. In a way that even Zoromir found it inconceivable. As a result, alongside his admiration for this entity with whom he had struck a deal, caution also arose in his heart.
The most shocking thing was that he could not see what phase Osiris was in. But according to his deductions, Osiris should be within the 3rd phase. He could only sigh, ’As expected of a Demon Horned Undead who can wield the purest form of the demonic energy.’
Demon Horned Undead, signified Demons who died, but later on had been transformed into an undead being, due to the overpowering nature of the demon bloodline, 95% of the time. Demons cannot be converted to undead-type creatures.
The bloodline of the demons was too strong; other than the blood of the Dragons, nothing could compete against it. It would encroach on and corrupt all other bloodlines, making them unstable, but... but, on the extremely rare occasions when the conversion to an undead creature of a demon does succeed.
Those undead would, in many cases, retain their demonic abilities and energy, alongside the advantages of being undead. Osiris was naturally amongst the rarest of the rare.
And if Zoromir were to believe the story Osiris and his minion Golgoth told him, then it was likely that Osiris was one of the prized experiments of Arclight.
Well, it wouldn’t be the first time that this continent-wide secret organization has done heinous acts like these, mixing bloodlines and creating half-blood monsters.
Except for the Ghost and Demon races, the other five ruling races strongly oppose this practice of mixing bloodlines; across all those empires, it is completely forbidden.
Especially, the Dragons hate it the most.
While the 5th phase Strategist of the 3rd Ghost Legion was busy pondering about Osiris, he failed to notice the strange glint that passed through the eyes of Gareth; those words that he just stated were not in fact an indication of what his master Osiris had done.
But those words were perhaps directed more towards Zoromir himself. But by the time the 5th-phase Lich would realize the hidden meaning behind Gareth’s statement. It would already be too late.

The nearly one-kilometer-tall Demonized Fenrir attacked the Valkyrie with its ginormous red claw. Sophia was covered in a thick layer of darkness. From afar, it looked like a giant was trying to swat a fly.
However, a look of contempt crossed the Valkyrie’s face because, no matter how powerful this creature was, it was merely a beast.
A beast bound by its instincts.
Sophia whispered, "Darkness Displacement."
She disappeared from her spot, like a cloud of smoke. It was a short-range displacement technique using her element of the All-encompassing darkness.
She appeared a bit high above and made a mental command.
[Aspect has been switched to "Arcanist"]
[Your title "Doom Arcanist" is in effect]
["Radiation Magic" is now accessible]
With a cold sneer on her lips, she stated in a thunderous tone, "Radiation Magic, thousand flame projectile."
The moment she said that, hovering in the highest spot upon the battlefield, a thousand orbs of violent flame lit up throughout the skies, right above her head, but those flames had a mix of red and blackness. They continued to burn chaotically as if they would explode and wither away at any moment.
With a graceful downward motion of her hand, the thousands of waves of radiation infused flames rained down on the Ginormous Wolf.
But the Immortal Wolf howled madly once more and jumped up, opening its titanic jaws that could shatter even the mountains.
The Wolf wanted to swallow the Valkyrie and assimilate her dark and endless power within itself.
But the sneer on Sophia’s lips only widened as if she had been waiting for it; only half of the thousand flame orbs had rained down onto the Wolf’s outer body, burning its red fur, oozing with Demonic energy, thick radiation lingering in those spots.
The remaining half of the thousand orbs of radioactive flames, under her precise control, combined into a serpentine stream of red and black flames. The stream of flame immediately rushed inside the Wolf’s mouth.
But only some of them managed to get inside because the Beast of Ragnarok let out a howl filled with demonic energy. The force of that howl dispersed most of the serpentine-shaped radioactive flames.
This almost stunned Sophia for a moment. Thankfully, she activated displacement at the last moment and disappeared from her spot.
Fenrir let out a dissatisfied growl, looking at her with hatred.
Sophia saw the creature’s wounds begin to heal, which she had delivered with her radiation magic, whether inside or outside the Wolf’s body. A small flicker of surprise passed through her eyes.
Because the speed of this creature’s self-healing was truly unprecedented, but she didn’t mind, and stated once more, "Radiation Magic, Radiant Missiles."
Two large halos of magical circles formed on either side of her, shining brilliantly. From those circles, one after another balls of light shot out towards Fenrir, but in truth, they were super compacted radiation on the verge of explosion.
These were perhaps even more deadly than the previous flame orbs.
Though there were light burn marks on the creature’s fur, the attacks barely hurt the immortal Wolf enough so that the Wolf started to look at her with a trace of disdain.
In the end, it was just as Sophia thought: a beast was a beast, despite the intelligence it possessed. A wild creature like this was not prone to using its intelligence unless it was necessary, perhaps only when faced with a certain threat of death.
In a battle of this scale, that was a disdainful mentality; after all, pure power does not always win.
Ignoring the Beast that was filled with foolish pride, she softly clapped with both hands, and a wave of frequency spread out, hitting the mind of the Red Fenrir. The Wolf trembled with an unknown weakness.
"Radiation Magic, Radioactive Frequency..." she uttered.
Only then did Fenrir realize that something was wrong, but it could not figure out what. The Wolf started to feel heavy, almost drowsy.
Though all the injuries the Wolf suffered at the hands of its opponent had healed within moments, Fenrir still decided to take the Valkyrie seriously and not fool around with its prey anymore, controlling the demonic energy within its body.
The Ragnarok Beast opened its mouth, shooting a mighty Demonic ray of destruction. It was so fast and powerful that Sophia could not perform her darkness displacement in that situation. With a fierce look in her eyes, she punched forward with a monstrous, piercing power of her All-encompassing darkness in her fists.
BOOOM!!!!!
All-Encompassing Darkness and Demonic Energy collided, and she was only able to obstruct a small amount of the Demonic Energy from that ray.
As most of that attack still hit her in the end, it charred her skin black, but that was nothing for her; she stared with a dark smile, "Radiation Convergence..."
The instant she said those words, all the countless amount of radiation that had been injected into the body of the Titanic Wolf gathered together onto the brain of the creature, the spot where all the radiation gathered, the Wolf’s brain began to melt down.
Thus hampering its entire thinking ability, the Wolf staggered to the ground. The creature that was dubbed the Immortal Wolf, further powered by Axel’s demon blood and flesh, only amounted to that much.
Fenrir’s greatest forte, which was its endless healing, could not stand against Sophia’s radiation magic.
Radiation was not an element that could be expelled so easily or healed from. For that reason, The Valkyrie was the ultimate bane of all those who had an immense reservoir of healing power.
In essence, she was a very bad matchup against the Immortal Wolf. The technical advantage she held against the creature was just too great.
However, despite all of that, she still could not kill the Wolf with just that much because the current Fenrir was three times more powerful than what Wangnan had faced.
As all the radiation injected into the Wolf’s body, completely converged and exploded onto the Wolf’s brain. She sent another mental command, and Prime Nexus responded courteously.
[Half-life Marker of the Radiation Magic has been placed upon the current state of Fenrir.]
Despite the explosion melting Wolf’s brain, just like what Sophia thought, barely a minute passed, and Fenrir’s brain was almost done healing once again; the life force of the creature was powerful enough to keep it alive despite the dangerous amount of radiation particles flowing through the veins of Fenrir.
Sophia snapped her fingers and muttered, "Radiation Magic, Half-Life Shift."
The almost healed Fenrir was again reverted to the state where its brain had exploded through the convergence of radiation. The Ragnarok Beast howled in maddening pain.
This scene occurred repeatedly; whenever the Beast was almost healed, she would execute the same application of her magic.
The countless powerhouses whose gazes were locked onto the Valkyrie sucked in a sharp breath filled with immense wariness towards Sophia.

Seekers Note =
Half-Life Marker notes a particular state of an entity.
When Half-Life Shift is activated, that entity will be returned to that Marked state.
Applications of this... ↓
The Valkyrie could use this to return a healed enemy to their injured state.
Or heal an ally, or even herself.
And it was due to this dangerous ability of the Radiation Magic that Axel had sealed away Sophia’s ability to switch her Aspect in the final battle of the First Arc on Chapter-371...
