Chapter 523 - 522: The Meeting
Bella Acker sat at the bedside, keeping Aunt Sienna company.
Aunt Sienna looked at her dark circles, feeling heartbroken, deliberately said a few words and then closed her eyes pretending to sleep.
Bella continued to sit at her bedside, speaking softly. Her voice grew softer and softer, and unconsciously, she fell asleep leaning on the bedside.
She was truly exhausted. If it weren’t for sheer willpower holding her up, she would have collapsed long ago.
Aunt Sienna opened her eyes, her fingers gently stroked her hair, whispering, "Bella, I hope Aunt Sienna can help you a little this time."
The sleeping Bella was unaware.
Today was the day to join the Life and Death film crew. Early in the morning, Bella first took Ethan to kindergarten before rushing to the crew.
After she left, Aunt Sienna pressed the button by her bed, "I need to see a doctor."
The doctor responsible for Aunt Sienna during the day quickly came over and asked, "What’s wrong? Is there any discomfort?"
Aunt Sienna replied, "Doctor, the pain is intense today, can you please give me an extra dose of painkillers?"
"Painkillers can’t just be administered as you please," the doctor frowned.
"Doctor, I know I have no more than two days to live. I beg you, let me suffer a little less." Aunt Sienna pleaded, grasping the doctor’s arm, tears already streaming down.
Seeing her like this, the doctor weighed the situation and finally made an exception, "Alright, just this once."
"Thank you, doctor! Thank you!"
Aunt Sienna expressed her gratitude, and the doctor administered the painkillers and gave some instructions before leaving.
Once the doctor left, Aunt Sienna immediately began to slowly get up from the bed.
She first found her phone to call Bea, arranged a meeting place with Mrs. Sinclair, then changed out of her hospital gown into regular clothes before leaving her room.
The hospital ward had many patients, with numerous family members coming and going. Nurses and doctors were busy checking and administering medicine to the patients in various rooms, so nobody noticed her.
Aunt Sienna supported herself against the wall, slowly making her way into the elevator.
Due to her physical condition, even though the painkillers temporarily alleviated the pain, Aunt Sienna couldn’t walk far, so the meeting place was set at a teahouse diagonally opposite the hospital.
Aunt Sienna used great effort to arrive at the teahouse first and waited. About two hours later, Bea brought Mrs. Sinclair along.
Seeing them enter, Aunt Sienna immediately supported herself against the table and stood up, "Miss Sinclair, over here."
Bea held Mrs. Sinclair’s hand and approached, "Aunt Sienna, I’m sorry, traffic was bad, we are late."
"No, no, please sit down." Aunt Sienna shook her head, some anxiety in her glance towards Mrs. Sinclair. She thought to herself how different wealthy women were, clearly of a certain age but well-maintained, still looking young and beautiful, with excellent poise.
Bea helped Mrs. Sinclair sit down, and the waiter came to ask, "What kind of tea would the three of you like?"
Aunt Sienna had never had the leisure money to come to a teahouse to drink any tea, so she remained silent.
Bea looked around and said, "A pot of pu’er tea, and some tea snacks."
"Alright, please wait a moment."
The waiter withdrew, and Aunt Sienna then awkwardly said, "Mrs. Sinclair, I’m really sorry for asking you out today."
Mrs. Sinclair looked at her, her expression remained relatively gentle between her brows, "I’ve heard from Bella about your relationship with Bella. If you have anything to say, speak plainly. But if you are here to seek justice for Bella, there’s no need. We Sinclairs always believe that grievances have their causes and debtors their lenders. We never wronged good people, but neither do we spare anyone who harms our family."
