Chapter 1044: Coming to Beg for Milk
Chapter 1044: Coming to Beg for Milk
The news that Huang Ruiying had found a baby spread like wildfire among the relatives and elders of the Huang, Zeng, and Yu families.
Well, things have taken a turn for the better now; the peaceful days have suddenly become lively.
The first to know were Yu Xiang's family.
The baby is not even a month old yet, and I'm worried that feeding him only milk won't provide enough nutrition. Also, it seems like his digestive system isn't used to it, as he started having diarrhea last night.
Just last month, at the beginning of July, Tang Yuan gave birth to her second child, another boy, whom Grandpa Yu named "Yu Cheng'an".
Now that living conditions have improved, Tangyuan has plenty of breast milk, which her own little An'an can't possibly finish.
So the next morning, Yu Xiang asked the nanny to take the little one she had found to her parents' home.
Firstly, it's to get some milk for the little one, and secondly, it can help lighten Tangyuan's burden, saving her from having to use a breast pump all the time.
But this completely baffled Grandpa Yu and Zheng Aiying.
Not only did the eldest daughter, Yu Xiang, suddenly return, but she also brought a postpartum nanny with her, who was holding a baby.
This left Lao Yu and Zheng Aiying looking at each other in bewilderment. Yu Wei was even more confused. When did their eldest sister give birth to another child? How come there was no prior warning?
Judging from the expressions on her parents' and younger brother's faces, Yu Xiang knew they had misunderstood.
"What are you thinking? Huang Ruiying picked this up outside," she quickly clarified.
Zheng Aiying was stunned: "What? You're saying Xiaoduo picked this up? Really?"
Grandpa Yu didn't believe it either: "I'd believe you if you said she found money, but find a child? That's ridiculous!"
Yu Wei remained quite calm. He pulled his sister to his side and asked softly, "Did that man surnamed Huang have a child with someone else, and then claim it was adopted, wanting you to raise it for him?"
Upon hearing this, Yu Xiang glared at him angrily: "You have quite the imagination!" At this moment, she completely forgot that she herself had thought the same thing last night.
Zheng Aiying, who had just gone over to look at the baby with the nanny, overheard her son's words and angrily slapped him, saying, "You're just talking nonsense. If you can't speak properly, then shut up."
Yu Xiang quickly clarified, "It really was Huang Ruiying who picked it up. It's a girl. Your brother-in-law reported it to the police yesterday. The police said they need time to investigate and asked us to look after the child for a while until they find her family."
Old Yu then realized he hadn't seen his grandson and granddaughter. He glanced towards the door and asked, "Didn't Xiaodong and Xiaoduo come with you?"
"Xiao Chuan's aunt missed them, so he arranged for someone to send the two children to his aunt's house," Yu Xiang answered Lao Yu's question casually. Then she looked around and asked, "Where's Tang Yuan? I brought this little guy here to ask her for some milk."
Yu Wei pointed upstairs: "She's in her room sleeping with the child. Go up and find her."
After hearing this, Yu Xiang took the baby from the nanny and added, "Rest in the living room for a while." The nanny smiled and agreed.
Zheng Aiying tenderly took the little one from her eldest daughter's arms: "I'll go with you."
As the mother and daughter walked upstairs, Zheng Aiying looked down and carefully examined the baby in her arms. The little one had delicate features and fair skin, and was very lovable.
"I must say, this little girl is quite pretty, but judging from her appearance, she doesn't seem to be even a month old yet?"
Yu Xiang nodded: "Yes, not a month old yet."
Zheng Aiying sighed softly and shook her head: "How could you bear to abandon such a good child? If you're not going to raise him, don't have him!"
That's incredibly irresponsible.
As the two were talking, Yu Xiang pushed open Tang Yuan's door and went in first.
"Big sister's here!" Tang Yuan's eyes lit up instantly when he saw Yu Xiang.
Yu Xiang glanced at her sleeping nephew on the bed and asked in a low voice, "Is An'an asleep?"
Tang Yuan waved his hand, looking indifferent: "It's okay, let's talk normally, he won't wake us up. This little guy sleeps like a pig during the day, you can't wake him up no matter how much you shake him, but he's energetic at night, which messes up my biological clock."
At this moment, Zheng Aiying also carried the little one to the bedside. Tang Yuan then noticed that his mother-in-law was holding a baby and was stunned for a moment.
She glanced at her side instinctively. Her son was sleeping soundly there. She was puzzled. Where did the thing her mother-in-law was holding come from?
Seeing this, Yu Xiang had no choice but to explain again: "Xiao Duo picked her up from outside yesterday afternoon. Your brother-in-law called the police, and the police came. They are currently looking for the child's family. Once they are found, they will send her back. Your brother-in-law and I will help take care of her for the next few days."
"Ah! An abandoned baby!" Tang Yuan instantly understood why his sister-in-law had brought the child to find him.
Having just given birth to her second child, she was still very maternal and took the baby from her mother-in-law without saying a word.
"Come here, poor little thing, let Auntie hold you."
Just as she held it in her arms, she suddenly remembered something and looked up to ask Yu Xiang, "Big sister, is this a boy or a girl?"
Standing to the side, Zheng Aiying answered the question first: "It's a girl, not even a month old yet."
As soon as Zheng Aiying finished speaking, the little guy in Tang Yuan's arms seemed to smell something, and kept nuzzling against Tang Yuan's chest with his little mouth opening and closing, looking impatient.
Tangyuan was feeling uncomfortable from the swelling, so he simply lifted up his shirt and started feeding her.
Seeing the little guy eating, Yu Xiang finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"I fed her some milk yesterday, but she started having diarrhea in the middle of the night, so I brought her to see you today."
Tang Yuan lowered her head and gently stroked the little one's hand with her fingers, her eyes full of affection: "Anyway, An'an can't finish eating every day, it's a waste to throw it away. I'll squeeze it out and put it in a bottle, and have Yu Wei deliver it to your home every day, so you don't have to carry her around."
Yu Xiang thought this was a good idea: "Yu Wei doesn't need to deliver it; he's very busy with work every day. I'll arrange for a driver to pick it up every day. Just call me when it's ready."
The two of them settled the matter of the little guy's meals.
Meanwhile, in the same city, the Zeng family...
"You said you found a baby who was still nursing yesterday?" Qian Jiazhen stared at Huang Ruiying with wide eyes, her face full of disbelief.
Huang Ruiying nodded: "Yes, when we went out, my mom took her to my aunt's house to ask for milk. My aunt just gave birth to a baby boy last month, so she definitely has milk."
Huang Zeji nodded in agreement, confirming that his sister wasn't lying.
Before Qian Jiazhen could even process this question, Huang Ruiying made a request that left her both amused and exasperated.
"Auntie, could you talk to my dad about this and ask him to keep the baby so I can have a little sister? That way, my brother will have two little sisters." She then nudged Huang Zeji beside her. "Brother, don't you think so?"
Huang Zeji did not respond at all, as if he had not heard what was said.
Qian Jiazhen was both annoyed and amused. Although this girl was already fourteen years old, she still had a very superficial understanding of such matters. If her father really adopted that child, there would be one more person to divide the family property in the future, and it wouldn't even be his biological child.
