The Forbidden History [Part-2]
"We can tell them a little."
"A little," Natalia emphasized.
Brinda immediately leaned forward.
"I still can’t believe such a person even existed."
Eon nodded.
"Neither can I."
Videl remained silent.
Ever since hearing the name Anos, a strange feeling had lingered in his mind.
It wasn’t fear.
It wasn’t curiosity alone either.
It felt more like discovering that a missing piece of history had been hidden from everyone.
The only reason why the temples and the royal families never divulged even a little information about this Demon Emperor was that they feared human curiosity.
Once the public learned of his existence, countless people would inevitably begin searching for answers.
One secret would lead to another.
One forbidden record would lead to the next.
Eventually someone might uncover truths that should never be disturbed.
Ruby slowly folded her hands together.
"The greatest danger isn’t the information itself."
"Then what is it?" Brinda asked.
"The pursuit of more information."
The room fell silent.
Natalia continued where Ruby stopped.
"People always believe they can stop whenever they want."
Her voice carried an unusual seriousness.
"They tell themselves they’ll only investigate a little."
"A single document."
"A single ruin."
"A single ancient record."
"Then curiosity grows."
Ruby nodded.
"And curiosity has destroyed more kingdoms than swords ever did."
Brinda swallowed.
"That serious?"
Natalia’s expression remained calm.
"Very."
Eon frowned.
"So people are forbidden from researching him?"
"Not exactly."
Ruby shook her head.
"The temples never officially forbade it."
"They simply made sure the information was difficult to obtain."
"Most people never even learn his name."
Videl’s brows furrowed.
"If his existence is hidden to this degree..."
He paused.
"Then whatever happened back then must have been far more important than people realize."
Neither holy maiden answered immediately.
That silence alone gave everyone their answer.
...
The group was now all comfortably sitting down as Natalia began talking.
Outside the window, the afternoon wind gently rustled the trees surrounding the guild.
For a brief moment, nobody spoke.
Even Brinda looked unusually attentive.
Natalia took a deep breath.
"Information about Demon Emperor Anos must be kept a secret."
Her blue eyes swept across everyone present.
"I hope before we begin, everyone who wishes to listen should make a vow of silence."
The atmosphere immediately became heavier.
Brinda blinked.
"A vow?"
Ruby nodded.
"A magical vow."
Brinda tilted her head.
"Is that really necessary?"
"It is."
Natalia’s voice left no room for argument.
"The information we’re about to discuss isn’t supposed to leave this room."
Videl glanced around.
Everyone appeared equally surprised.
Even Eon straightened slightly.
Eon scratched his cheek.
"That serious, huh?"
Ruby smiled faintly.
"Much more serious than you think."
Brinda groaned dramatically.
"You two are making it sound like we’re about to hear the greatest secret in history."
Natalia looked directly at her.
"In some ways, you are."
The room instantly became quiet again.
Even Brinda stopped joking.
Videl could feel his heartbeat quicken slightly.
The more they spoke, the stranger everything became.
Demon Emperor Anos.
The Age of Chaos.
The Six Heroes.
The Rings of Venus.
None of it appeared in ordinary history books.
None of it appeared in stories told around village campfires.
Yet judging from Natalia and Ruby’s expressions, these events had undoubtedly shaped the world itself.
Natalia raised her hand.
A faint golden light gathered around her fingertips.
"This vow isn’t dangerous."
"It simply prevents the listener from intentionally revealing what is discussed here."
Brinda immediately raised a hand.
"What happens if someone tries?"
Ruby smiled.
"They’ll discover very quickly why divine contracts shouldn’t be broken."
Brinda slowly lowered her hand.
"Right."
"I’m suddenly not curious anymore."
"You are absolutely curious."
"Okay, maybe a little."
Even Videl couldn’t help smiling.
The tension eased slightly.
Natalia shook her head helplessly before extending her hand.
A small golden magic circle appeared above the table.
Ancient runes slowly rotated around its edge.
Warm light illuminated everyone’s faces.
"The process is simple."
"Place your hand above the circle."
"State your agreement."
"That’s all."
Eon stepped forward first.
"No point backing out now."
One after another, the others followed.
Eon.
Brinda.
Videl.
The moment each person accepted, a tiny strand of golden light entered their bodies before disappearing.
The sensation was gentle.
Almost comforting.
Like warm sunlight touching their skin.
After everyone finished, Natalia finally relaxed.
"The vow is complete."
Ruby released a relieved breath.
"Good."
Brinda immediately leaned forward again.
"Now tell us already."
"What exactly happened during the Age of Chaos?"
"Who was Anos?"
"Why does everyone keep hiding information about him?"
Questions spilled from her mouth one after another.
Natalia rubbed her forehead.
"You really have no patience."
"Correct."
Ruby laughed softly.
"At least she’s honest."
Outside, clouds slowly drifted across the afternoon sky.
Inside the room, anticipation continued building.
Everyone’s attention remained fixed on the two holy maidens.
Even the unconscious Lane seemed strangely peaceful as she rested nearby.
Meanwhile, in another room of the guild, Isabella continued sleeping beneath the gentle emerald glow of the Ring of Venus.
Unaware that, only a few doors away, a piece of forgotten history was finally about to be revealed.

After seeing everyone decide to make the vow themselves, Natalia smiled.
Ruby immediately sensed trouble.
"Natalia..."
The blonde holy maiden ignored her warning and casually waved her hand.
"Well, even if you do decide to tell another person it won’t be such a big deal. Since the information we’re going to give isn’t really anything important. I just hope you people will keep your word."
The sweet smile on Natalia’s face somehow sent a chill through the room.
Brinda blinked.
"Wait a minute."
Eon raised an eyebrow.
"That’s it?"
Videl looked equally confused.
"What happened to the divine vow?"
"The divine vow?" Natalia tilted her head.
"Yeah." Brinda nodded repeatedly. "You know, glowing light, sacred runes, divine punishment if we break it."
Ruby immediately facepalmed.
"Oh no..."
Natalia looked genuinely puzzled.
"Why would I do that?"
The room fell silent.
Videl stared at her.
"You mean there isn’t an actual vow?"
Natalia crossed her arms.
"Do you think I would lie to you?"
"No."
"Do you think I would do something unjust?"
"Also no."
"Then why would I force a magical contract on you?"
