Chapter 297 Drugging
Chapter 297 Drugging
A burning crossbow bolt bounced twice off the concrete walls on either side in an extremely tricky trajectory.
The crossbow bolts seemed to have eyes, whistling past the cover and hitting the concrete ground right in the center of Han Che's group of three!
It exploded in the corridor, and flames immediately spread.
"Said!" Han Che's expression changed and he called out in a low voice.
Han Che and Qi Yuzhe reacted incredibly quickly, instantly rolling away in the opposite direction of the corridor to dodge.
However, Boss Jin, caught in the middle, was not so lucky or skilled.
Boss Jin's reaction time was already a few beats slow, not to mention that he was holding that heavy M249 in his arms at the time.
As a result, before he could even take a step when the flames ignited, the intense fire spread from his trousers to his body in an instant.
"Ahhh! Help! I'm burning to death! Help me!" Boss Jin screamed in agony as he desperately struggled in the sea of flames.
Han Che knew very well that for the sake of the club's reputation, it was not yet time to let this fat pig die.
Ignoring the still crackling, scorching sparks around him, Han Che gritted his teeth, grabbed Boss Jin's arm, and left a black afterimage in mid-air.
"Come here!"
Han Che let out a loud shout, and the power in his arm exploded instantly.
A sharp, teeth-grinding cracking sound came from the corridor as Han Che forcibly pulled Boss Jin's massive body out of the raging inferno with a single hand.
The enormous lump of flesh flew more than two meters through the air before slamming hard onto the clean, unburnt floor of the corridor on the other side, rolling several times before finally coming to a stop.
Fortunately, Han Che acted quickly enough that the flames didn't have time to spread completely inside Boss Jin's clothes.
His injuries weren't actually that serious; only his legs and back were burned black, making him look incredibly disheveled.
The hair that was exposed outside the tactical helmet was all singed and charred by the high temperature of the flames, and the skin surface was also burning and stinging due to the burns.
But the most serious injury wasn't the burns. Because of the terrifying force Han Che unleashed in his panic, Boss Jin's left arm was dislocated the instant it was pulled out of the fire.
"Ouch... my god! It hurts like hell! My arm is broken! Aaaaaah!"
Boss Jin was in so much pain that he rolled around frantically on the dusty ground, his fat face covered in tears and snot.
He used his right hand and left shoulder to writhe on the ground, letting out a series of agonizing screams, while the M249 machine gun was thrown aside.
Han Che and Qi Yuzhe had no time to pay attention to him; the owner of this rocket was none other than Said.
As the map boss of Dam Zero, he cannot be underestimated by Han Che.
The two found a good spot to set up their guns, but as time passed, apart from Boss Jin's screams and the sound of burning fire, no one, including Said or any other NPCs, appeared in the corridor.
It seems that Said has no intention of confronting Han Che and his group head-on in this narrow second-floor corridor.
Han Che closed his eyes and focused all his attention on sensing killing intent, trying to pinpoint Said's location.
Unfortunately, he could only barely sense a faint killing intent, which lingered in a general area at the other end of the corridor.
"Over there at the gatehouse," Han Che whispered.
Qi Yuzhe nodded to indicate that he understood.
Meanwhile, on the floor in the middle of the corridor, Boss Jin was still clutching his arm and groaning in pain.
Han Che was a little annoyed. He took a bottle of painkillers from his magazine. "Alright, stop yelling. Here's a painkiller..."
However, before Han Che could even finish saying the word "medicine," Qi Yuzhe's eyes suddenly flashed. He reached out and grabbed Han Che's arm as he was holding the medicine. "Let me do it, Brother Han, let me do it!"
"What's the difference..." Han Che hadn't finished speaking when he saw Qi Yuzhe pull out a yellow bottle.
A yellow bottle? When did painkillers start being packaged in this bottle?
Han Che didn't know what was in the bottle, but he could see Qi Yuzhe's grin that stretched to his ears.
A pill was put into Boss Jin's mouth, and he stopped groaning in pain almost instantly.
"OK! Done!" Qi Yuzhe smiled smugly at Han Che.
Han Che pulled Qi Yuzhe in front of him and whispered in his ear, "What is that thing?"
"It has the same ingredients as my hallucinogenic smoke, but the dosage is small," Qi Yuzhe said mysteriously.
Han Che recalled the players' hallucinogenic smoke attacks in the Tidal Prison, his eyes widening as he exclaimed, "What if he has a manic episode later?!"
"It's alright, don't worry! This hallucinogenic effect amplifies his fear, making him afraid of death, which makes it easier for us to control him." Qi Yuzhe carefully put the medicine bottle back into the magazine.
"I'll have to blow the whistle to drive him crazy."
Han Che's expression was somewhat complicated. "Alright, let's not stay in this corridor. Let's go to the computer room first; it's more spacious there."
Then Han Che dragged Boss Jin, who was sitting on the ground with his eyes glazed over, while Qi Yuzhe picked up the M249 that had fallen to the side, and together they went to the computer room on the second floor.
Han Che held the Giant Wave rifle horizontally in his right hand, quickly pushed open the door, pointed the gun inside, and stepped across the threshold after confirming that no one was there.
With his other hand, he dragged the still somewhat dazed Boss Jin along the floor and pulled his bulky body into the house.
After confirming that no other Asara soldiers had spawned in the room, nor had any other players gotten there first, Qi Yuzhe closed the door behind him.
Han Che loosened the back of Boss Jin's collar, letting the fat man slump to the ground.
"What do we do next? We already have enough enemies coming in to cause trouble for us this time. We haven't even seen the shadow of the Joker Gang yet, and now Said is causing trouble here first," Qi Yuzhe complained.
Han Che walked over, turned his head slightly, and whispered in Qi Yuzhe's ear.
"You really don't know Saeed? Logically speaking, aren't you both from Asara's camp? Why don't you go talk to him? What can't you talk about?"
Qi Yuzhe was visibly taken aback after hearing this, then rolled his eyes in annoyance and turned his head to the side.
"Don't give me that crap, I don't know him. In the player world, you and that guy called Brother Qiang are both from China, you're from the same hometown. Why didn't you go over to him in the square, grab his hand, and have a chat, asking him to let us off the hook today?"
Han Che was speechless and had to stop joking. "Since Said isn't planning to rush over for the time being, let him stay there. He can also help us keep an eye on a corridor."
The raven nodded; it had no other choice now.
