Chapter 1719: The Troublemaking Withered Branch
Chapter 1719: The Troublemaking Withered Branch
"Sealed Land? Is there a passageway beneath it? I suspect there might be a passage, and what is sealed could very well be the true form of that branch," Lou Lan voiced her guess.
Nie Qing, after learning about the branch, also reached a similar conclusion.
"This might be an ancient plant or a Divine Tree worshiped by ancient races."
In ancient times, there were many races that worshiped the Divine Tree, believing that the origins of life came from the Tree of Life.
Lou Lan: "That’s a possibility."
Little Taotie squatted down, picked up a bit of soil, and sniffed it.
There was a slightly damp earthy smell.
Is there really a passage beneath this?
Is Head Grandpa perhaps on the other end of the passage?
Little Taotie wanted to see the spot where the Ancient Pagoda once stood; although now the pagoda has turned into pieces of gold bricks lying in her Horse-Faced Bell, that spot still bears the mark of the pagoda, at least, in the place where the Ancient Pagoda had stood for thousands of years, no grass grew.
The Horse-Faced Bell shook violently, trying to stop her.
Little Taotie wasn’t sure if it was the branch inside the Horse-Faced Bell or the gold bricks blocking her; she consoled them a little.
If it were the gold bricks, they might have stopped causing trouble by now.
But the pulling force not only didn’t weaken but instead intensified.
From this, she deduced that it was the branch causing the trouble.
Little Taotie didn’t have much patience for the branch, so she forcefully pulled it out. By now, the branch had grown many vines, but what Little Taotie held was the branch itself; those vines were like hair growing from the branch, forcibly being pulled out.
It was like uprooting a plant.
Little Taotie, with a fierce innocence, glared at the branch: "Behave yourself, and stop making trouble!"
The branch seemed afraid of something, perhaps its true form beneath the seal. It shook vigorously, as if mimicking a human shaking their head.
The vines on it climbed onto Little Taotie’s hand, then gently tugged, not daring to use too much force, much like a spoiled child trying to stop their parents from going to work.
Little Taotie was momentarily stunned.
She was surprised by the branch’s flattery and change.
It was evident that whatever was beneath the seal frightened it; otherwise, it wouldn’t lower its stance to plead with her.
After all, the branch had fallen into the Horse-Faced Bell, in her hand, yet it still arrogantly attempted to kill her in dreams, but its current attitude was a drastic change.
This made Little Taotie even more curious about what lay beneath the seal.
Little Taotie casually tossed the branch aside: "Since you don’t listen to me, I won’t listen to you either!"
Having tried to kill her in dreams, Little Taotie knew she wasn’t one to have a good temper and wasn’t about to forgive the troublesome branch.
The vines on the branch tried to keep Little Taotie, wrapping around her foot.
If she hadn’t been prepared, Little Taotie might have almost stumbled.
The young girl grew even angrier, stomping fiercely on the branch and vines several times.
Though small, the young girl had substantial strength, and the branch, stepped on repeatedly, wilted as if it had died.
Little Taotie felt no sympathy for it, snorting at it: "If that’s truly your true form, you shouldn’t choose fear and avoidance, you should join me in breaking through and change the true form, then I would consider you a hero, and past issues would be forgiven."
The branch seemed somewhat moved, its vines retracting wildly back into the branch, reverting to its original state. It seemed unchanged, but upon closer inspection, one would find ancient texts formed by tree patterns faintly appearing on the branch.
